THE TEAM(?)

Hi!

My name is Jaakko Honkanen (also known as Mayrasiili and more recently, BadgeHogzzz), and I’m the artist and writer behind The Last Horseman!

I started drawing back in 2010, and soon after became interested in the idea of creating a story. At that time, I followed quite a bit of different webcomics, ranging from your run-of-the-mill, lighthearted fantasy comics all the way to some pretty drama-filled and character-heavy stuff (and everything in between). I tried my hand at writing at the early stages of this idea but quickly abandoned it and focused more on comics as my chosen medium.

The Last Horseman was not really the first idea for a webcomic I had. However, all the early concepts I had over time sort of amalgamated into what TLH currently is (and every day sees a small or a big revision here and there), so technically speaking, TLH has been in the making from as early as 2011. While I do aim to become a teacher and never have considered making comics my profession, TLH is still a labour of much dedication, discipline and some small bits of love, so I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I seem to enjoy making it (to my constant surprise).

Ps. While I handle the art of TLH, I’ve employed the help of few of my close friends, who provide me with feedback for different aspects of the comic and, in the case of CBan356, who provides me with music, sound effects and all the things I couldn’t handle myself. On my behalf, I thank my friends for helping me with such a huge project and generally being very supportive of my ambitions.

CBan356:

CBan356 is my trusty friend, who happens to be quite multi-talented. Due to this, he is able to aid me in a plethora of ways, ranging from creating soundtracks for TLH, advising me on the matters of style and visuals and providing me with the technical equipment and know-how as to how to keep things going at a steady pace. I may be the captain of this ship but make no mistake, CBan is the first mate and is the reason why I even currently have a “ship” to steer. His help has been numerous, none of it goes unnoticed and all of it is greatly appreciated.
